Match Report

Galloway lost the toss and batted first. Their openers initially struggled to put bat on ball, though runs gradually totted up and they reached 7 for the loss of one wicket after five overs.

Kestral was run out for two after a dangerous call by her partner Kelly, who was also run out for six soon afterwards. Autumn added two more before being another run out victim.

Next in was Jasmine, who also began cautiously, then scored a lovely four before unfortunately being bowled for seven. Batting at number five was Ruth, and she put in a notable performance becoming the highest scorer with ten runs, demonstrating some great running between the wickets.

The remaining wickets fell, with Kerry bowled for one and Julie for no score. Fiona fought hard to rack up six runs before being Galloway’s final run out. The team batted out their full allocation of 20 overs.

After a short break Galloway headed out to field. Opening bowler Jasmine began with a lovely maiden over, and Autumn almost emulated her except for a pesky wide. Jasmine delivered a further maiden.

The accurate bowling of the pair kept the visitors at bay, culminating in the first wicket taken by Autumn clean bowled. An injured opening batter resulted in a retiral.

Ruth provided a great economical first over, going on to take a further two wickets. Kestral and Fiona also produced promising performances with the ball.
